V8 conversion by MG Workshops, Melbourne Vic 1997. Started with 1977 MGB (rubber bumper) ex USA fitted with Rover 3.5 litre pushrod V8 engine enlarged to 3.9 litres with mild camshaft, balanced and blueprinted. Fuel injection system by Motec producing 165kW (220bhp)? Borg Warner T5 five speed gearbox, and a 2.9:1 BTR limited slip differential. The car is lowered approximately 38mm and fitted with uprated rear springs (to eliminate axle tramp), telescopic rear shock absorbers and a larger diameter front anti roll bar. Front brakes are ventilated discs with 4 pot callipers, rear brakes are standard MGB drums. Wheels are aluminium alloy 14" ‘mini lites’ with Bridgestone Potenza 195/60 R14 86H RE540 tyres.
